The course covers the topical requirements of AS 1926.1 – Safety barriers for swimming pools that are currently causing concern, confusion and inconsistency throughout industry. The course is ideal for E1 Certifiers, Swimming Pool Compliance Officers and A category Building Certifiers as it aims to clarify and reinforce your understanding of the requirements of AS 1926.1 in a way that is consistent with industry expectations and practice. In particular, we will cover the requirements relating to: • Objects, landscaping, ground level and the like located adjacent to barriers • Climbable objects within Non-climbable zones • Measuring barrier heights above stairs • The requirements for glass barriers and gates • What to look for when checking the operation of gate latches The course will also include an assessment tasks which must be completed before being presented with your certificate.

This course has been approved by the NSW Building Professionals Board as a recognised CPD Activity for E 1 Swimming Pool Certifiers, and A category Building Certifiers. 

The course is ideal for E1 Certifiers, Swimming Pool Compliance Officers and A category Building Certifiers as it aims to clarify and reinforce your understanding of the Swimming Pools Act 1992, and Regulations thereunder. In particular, we will cover the requirements relating to:
 

  • Conveyancing (Sale of Land) Amendment (Swimming Pools) Regulation 2016
  • Residential Tenancies Amendment (Swimming Pools) Regulation 2016
  • Clause 23 and 22A of the Swimming Pools Regulation 2008 ( that is, which version of the standard applies when)
  • Section 8, 9 and 10 Exemption
  • The requirements surrounding Section 22E Notices, in particular what information they must contain and the Certifiers obligations in relation to forwarding to Council

The course will also include an assessment tasks which must be completed before being presented with your certificate
